Don’t pray to heaven, pray to God

Share & Comment
I have heard a lot of Christians praying like this: heaven bless you, heaven empower you, heaven anoint you, heaven increase you, heaven do this for you, heaven do that for you. But from who do we learnt that? Jesus or His disciples? Where do we get that kind of prayer from? The gospels or the epistles?
Yea! Heaven is a place, a holy city, the abode of God. But it has no power of its own to heal, to deliver, to bless or even to answer anyone's prayer.
Will it not be too foolish if I start praying for you like this: Nigeria bless you, America increase you, Jerusalem anoint you, Algeria heal you?
Jesus said, 'Whatever you ask my father in my name...' Jesus didn't say
whatever you ask the heaven or in the name of heaven. Jesus says, ''Our Father which art in heaven,...'' He didn't say ''Our father which is also the heaven''

Remember, God's not the only one in heaven. There are four living creatures, twenty four elders, the saints, and innumerable angels. So if you are praying to heaven who among these are you praying to?
In my own understanding, all prayers should be directed to the Father, in the name of Jesus and in the power of Holy Spirit.
