Jesus says, 'I am the Alpha and the Omega- the beginning and the end'. I have read this verse many times but yesterday the Holy Spirit gave me a new understanding of it.
No one has ever been given eternity assignment. Only Jesus is capable of handling such a mission. All the great men and women who lived before Jesus earthly life never start this mission. They were very unfit for it because they were men like us. All their demonstrations and messages were only a preparation for something to begin. Abraham was the father of nations, Elijah and Elisha were men of fire, Joshua removed a day from history for life, David was a man after God’s own heart , many other
people did exploit for God in their days but none of them can come out to declare boldly, ‘I am the alpha’. Some people are fond of comparing saints or angels with Jesus but come to think of it, how can you compare a hundred with a million? How can you compare a local Councilor with a national president? Will it not be foolish to put Ibadan, a city in Nigeria, side by side with USA, even though Ibadan is the largest city in Africa? Jesus is far greater than anyone that ever lived.
Eternity mission started when Jesus came and ended when Jesus when Jesus died on the cross. That’s why our Lord cried out it is finished. The Alpha has begun it, the Omega has finished it. He left nothing for anyone to do than to key himself or herself into the finished work of Jesus.
All those who came after Jesus to start their own religion are all liars and deceivers. They must not be followed.
Let’s get it clear: Jesus is the Alpha, Jesus is the Omega; Jesus is the Author, Jesus is the Finisher. Everything begins with Him and ends with Him.
