Eight professors were arguing about the existence of God. Four or them said there's no God and that heaven and hell are just things made by human imaginations. Three of them insisted that there's God and that heaven and hell are as real as the earth we live in. But one of them remained quiet.
Later they asked him for his opinion about the argument. Here is his response:
assuming we all believe in God and live our lives for Him, but after
we die we discover there's nothing like God, Satan, heaven, hell or even life after death what do we lose?
They all responded: we lost nothing.
He asked them another question: what if we think there's no God and we use all our lives speaking against Him only for us to die and have to stand before him on his throne in heaven, what do we lose?
At once they all yelled: of course, we'll miss heaven and go to hell.
Then he looked at them straight in the eyes and said: it is better to believe in God and its better to believe there's life after death and die in this believe even if God is nothing but human imagination, than for us to think He does not exist only for us to meet him face to face after we have died.
